Is Casual Dating Obsolete?
Let's face the facts we are humans, we need love, we need someone to cuddle with at night, we need companionship. It's no wonder that every day couples all over the world are exchanging vows. Teenagers will be out shopping for the best dresses or tuxedos to look good for their prom nights.
The dating world has really changed though, people meet on a Monday and on Friday, they are out shopping for engagement rings. Which brings us to the question is casual dating obsolete?
A few years ago before a girl decided it is time to say I do with their partners they had to date casually for a year or more. They got to know each other better on a deeper level. What are my partners likes and dislikes? Is he the kind of guy to buy me roses every day? It's all about getting to know the personality of your partner and even finding out if he/she can be a potential wife or husband.
Commitment is not a mandate in fact you are free to date other people if you so wish. It's like picking out the best tomato in the grocery you pick the first one see if it's ripe, if it will be good for your soup, if it isn't you go on selecting until you find the one that is best suited for you.
Looking at today's world, it's hard not to believe that dating casually is considered a mundane activity. Judging by the mere fact that couples get divorced just after 3 weeks of marriage.
If people really got the time to know each other and find out if the guy/girl they are planning to marry would be ideal, would there really be a high rate of divorce cases? Definitely not. People just don't have the time everyone wants to join the band wagon and be Mrs x or the bride to be.
Most people forget it's not all about the hype that comes with wedding bells, marriage requires a lot of hard work and well, a longer period of dating just to be sure what your getting yourself into. We live in a generation sexual material is all over.
The internet, music videos, magazines, almost anything you can think of. Hence, most people become sexually active at a young age. Unlike other relationships such as friends with benefits or committed relationships, sex is not a priority in when you choose to date someone casually in fact it's rare that people engage in sexual activities.
Most people want quick fixes they loathe the whole procedure of getting to know someone and connecting one on one. They want one-night stands and they are gone out of your life. It's more of pleasure to them and less on connecting with their partners.
Casual dating is it a yes or no in today's society? It seems it is headed for the latter but that does not mean it is obsolete. It can play a huge role in determining the nature of your relationships. You get a chance to figure out the person you are most compatible with and at the same time, you are having fun.
Remember no commitments yet, you are still playing the field and you also get to choose a partner that is best suited for your happily ever after!
